This is the American Academy of Pediatrics' initiative to provide support for all
who care for special needs children. The
Los Angeles Medical Home Project for Children with Special Health Care Needs This is the site
of a local Medical Home Project based in L.A. A particularly useful resource on this site is the "All About Me"
book you can create for your child. This book contains all of the necessary information and documentation to help
you and your child's service providers coordinate the care of his/her special needs; the site gives you the templates to customize
your child's own book. STATE AND COUNTY DEVELOPMENTAL
RESOURCES California Department of Developmental Services This is the agency through which the state provides services to those with developmental disorders and
disabilities. Childrens Medical Services This is the branch of the Dept. of Developmental Services that provides the system of healthcare through which California
children with various special needs receive services (including CCS, CHDP, etc). North L.A. County Regional Center
This is the agency through which residents of Northwest LA county receive services for developmental disorders
and disabilities. Tri-Counties Regional Center This is the agency through which residents of Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties receive
services for developmental disorders and disabilities.
