Dr McLaren was born in Great Britain, grew
up in London and studied medicine at King's College and Westminster Medical School, London University.
After graduating in 1972, he spent three
years in postgraduate studies in England following which he came with his wife, Rima, to Los Angeles to complete a three year
residency at Children's Hospital. Dr McLaren is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatricians. The American Board of Pediatricians
has a voluntary certification program to promote excellence in medical care for children and adolescents.
Certification represents dedication to the highest level of professionalism in patient care. Dr McLaren became a diplomate
of the American Board of Pediatrics in 1982 and became recertified in April 2009. In 1978 he started
his practice in West Hills. In 1996 he merged his practice with Agoura-West Valley Pediatrics.
He has three
grown children: Damon, Lara and Marisa. His interests include jogging, hiking, golf and gardening, but most of all, he enjoys
his time with his family.
